ADD Strengths, the beginning.

This blog will be about attention surplus condition, more commonly known as attention deficit disorder, ADD or ADHD. We don’t have a deficit of attention, we attend to too many things.

I have ADD, I’m an Adult ADD Coach with a 100 page + ADD Resource website (can you say hyperfocus?) who leads the Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group in Vancouver BC, Canada.

I’ll be posting news about ADD, links to other ADD websites and blogs I find useful and interesting, and my thoughts about various aspects of ADD and coaching.

I will also be focusing on the strengths or advantages of ADD (see my 151 advantages of ADD), not just the challenges.

If you’re an adult with ADD and it’s something you have for the rest of your life, you do need to work on (or delegate) some of the challenges, but you don’t want to make that your sole focus. No one every created a great life by focusing 90% of their efforts on their weak points. What you focus on expands. Chose wisely.

I’ll be talking about ADD awareness or the lack thereof, and positive stories about ADD. I’ll also talk about ADD in Vancouver, in Canada, as well as the rest of the world.

Of course since I have ADD, I will occasionally practice divergent thinking, and branch off in different directions:)

Pete
