Karmic justice exponentially

Filed under: ADD Humour Pete Quily @

via Bruce Umbaugh A 3 minute video clip from a biology professor who had his laptop stolen. Talks in detail about the multiple worlds of pain in store for the person who stole it, and not empty threats.

Quite the wake up call for a thief. Try the torrent file, too bad that didn’t happen to all thieves.

Vancouver Weblogger Meetup & Vancouver beercasting squad

Filed under: ADD and Technology Pete Quily @

Went to my 2nd Vancouver Weblogger Meetup Group on Thursday April 21st at Subeez. It was combined with the Vancouver beercasting squad.

Kris Krug photographer, blogger, podcaster, webmonkey and 5 other titles has some photos and a list of some of the people that attended. Pretty big crowd about 30+ people. Had a great time. Enjoyed my first beer/podcasting session with Shane, Matt Musselman, and another guy who’s name I forgot but had some very good net gaming stories. Too bad they had audio problems.

I’m thinking of moving my blog from typepad to wordpress, it’s allows my inner geek more things to play with.

Adderall Doctors get conflicting advice on

Filed under: ADD Treatment Pete Quily @

From the American Medical News

They discuss how doctors were talking about the different reactions to Health Canada suspending sales of Adderall, while the FDA did not do so in the US.

The FDA answers a question that I’ve had about the suspension that Health Canada did not specify in the release that I read, namely what would be the normal death rate for that large a number of people, is it more, is it less is it the same?

Vancouver ADHD conference. ADHD: Across the Lifespan

Filed under: ADD Awareness Pete Quily @

The first annual CADDRA (Canadian Attention Deficit Disorder Research Alliance) ADHD conference, ADHD: Across the Lifespan will be held in Vancouver BC June 19 - 20, 2005.

Looks like there’s great content and great prices too.

I’d give a link to CADDRA but am still waiting for them to create a website, hopefully they’ll have one up before the conference starts.

They’re having it just before the Canadian Paediatric Society’s 2005 Annual Conference in Vancouver which starts June 21st.

Their target audience is Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Family Physicians, Psychologists, & Educators.

While the conference is geared towards medical professionals, it is also open to the public at very good rates (see website for details). I registered yesterday.

ADD Accountant. No, it’s true.

Filed under: ADD Treatment Pete Quily @

Honestly.

Here’s an story of an accountant with Attention Deficit Disorder, who got diagnosed, and tells how he dealt with it.

I have often suggested that you wouldn’t find many accountants with Attention Deficit Disorder. I’m not the only one who thinks this way. That being said, I now personally know 5 accountants with ADD. ADD is a problem at work when you’re doing something that you find boring or repetitive. It’s not that much of a problem when you’re doing things you find stimulating or exciting. Thankfully we all find different things exciting otherwise we’d all be competing for the same job.
