CADDAC, the Centre for ADD Advocacy Canada will have an Advocating for ADHD Drop-In Networking Session on Saturday, June 18, 2005, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver. This event is free and it’s the day before the ADHD Through the Lifetime Conference here in Vancouver June 19th and 20th. See my post on the ADHD Conference here.
You don’t have to attend the conference to go to this event, you don’t have to be an ADD coach, medical professional or support group leader.
You DO have to be interested in advocating for people with ADD. This event is for people who want to help others with ADD, it’s not to get help for yourself.
You’ll get an opportunity to Network with people from ADD Support Groups from across Canada. Of course I’ll be there, as well as attending the conference. We’ll also probably have people from my Vancouver Adult ADD support group as well as CHADD Vancouver.
CADDAC will be doing short presentations on ADD advocacy at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm. There will be “A Quebec and Ontario Success Story”, at 4pm how they got Concerta on Section 8 thanks to the efforts of families and doctors.
If you’re not happy at the level of awareness and treatment for ADD in Canada and want to do something to change it, come down and start making a difference.
