America’s Drug Bill. 151 Billion

Filed under: ADD Medication Pete Quily @

Time Magazine has a blog. Wow. Everyone’s getting in on the act.

The US spent $151 billion on outpatient prescriptions in 2002. That’s nearly 2.5 times what the spent in 1996 and it’s

almost equal to the entire 2004 national budget of the world’s ninth largest economy (Mexico)

No ADD medication was in the top ten, despite the constant media barrage on them. Maybe people concerned about the increase in prescription drug use have other targets now?
