Instant Karma For Rude People

Filed under: ADD Humour, Random Cool Stuff Pete Quily @

From the Post Secret Blog.

Careful how you treat others, you might get an instant karma payback.

decafe to rude people starbucks post secret

We’ve all been in line at a coffee shop or retail store where there’s been some self centered, egomanic with delusions of grandeur and full of deluded self importance, who treats the person behind the counter rudely without any cause on their part. It’s their way of spreading the uglyness in their heart around to others.

It’s nice to know that sometimes they get their karmic payback sooner than later.

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail-in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.

Health Canada Has Adderall XR Teleconference Same Day as Press Release. Hiding Something?

Filed under: ADD Medication, ADD Treatment Pete Quily @

Found an online press release for a teleconference with Marc Berthiaume, Director of the Marketed Pharmaceuticals Division of the Marketed Health Products Directorate of Health Canada on Adderall XR which has recently been put back on the market after suspending it in February 2005, in a controversial move.

I.e., it was supposedly pulled of the market for adverse cardiac events i.e. heart attack and sudden death when the death rate in the general population NOT taking Adderall XR was apparently higher. see my previous post.

The press release is dated August 24th and the teleconference is August 24th.

Health Canada allows Adderall XR® Back on the Canadian Market

Filed under: ADD Medication Pete Quily @

Health Canada has allowed Shire BioChem, the makers of Adderall XR to resume sales of Adderall XR. Health Canada appointed an external and independent committee, the New Drug Committee (NDC), which concluded that Health Canada’s original actions in banning the drug were appropriate and that the drug should be reintroduced to the Canadian market once some conditions have been met, and Health Canada has approved all those conditions.

Primarily, when prescribing and patient information is revised to reinforce the safe use of this medication and to reflect safety concerns, including the risk of sudden cardiac death in the general pediatric population.

It discusses subtypes of ADD, diagnosis, medication, behavioral treatment, and suggestions for parents and teachers. Here’s a few of the suggestion for parents of ADD children

* If you are very angry about a behavior or an incident, don’t attempt communication until you regain your cool, because you cannot be objective until then. It is better to stop, settle down, and talk to the child later.

Dr. Ed Hallowell’s ADD in 2005 Teleclass Series November 2 05

Filed under: ADD Awareness, ADD Strengths, ADD Treatment Pete Quily @

Dr. Hallowell and Dr. John Ratey are teaching a new 22-week teleconference course entitled ADD in 2005 starting November 2nd, 2005. They’ll be talking about the latest scientific developments in ADD as well as strategies to deal with ADD.

Their target audience is professionals who deal with ADD and “very interested adults”. The course will consist of 22 weekly 45 minute lectures plus a 30 minute Q&A. Participants will get 27.5 continuing education credits. The cost is US $2,150. Not pocket change. But, on the other hand, if they had it at $10 a class they’d have 3000 people on the line, no time for questions. I’m sure if you had the money, you’d probably feel it’s worth it, you’re getting access to 2 of the top people in the field of ADD for nearly half a year.

Cool video blog (vlog) movie called a wonderful world. It’s music video combined with zooming google earth maps.

From The Random Show, a vlog with random topics. With that title, it sounds like it’s either made by an ADDer or targeted to us. Maybe both:) If you have the bandwidth, go for the bigger version. Via Robert Scoble
