Two ADD TV Documentaries in September

by Pete Quily on September 19, 2005

One of the members of my Vancouver Adult ADD support group gave me a heads up on 2 ADD related TV programs for BC residents. For others there is a transcript available online for the BBC program.

The Knowledge Network (Channel 5 on Vancouver cable) is having two programs .

The first is part of a documentary, made in B.C., called Struggle for Control: Child and Youth Behaviour Disorders. It airs on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. It also will repeat on Sept.22 at 11 p.m. and Sept.29 at 11 in the morning.

Following the stories of four BC youth, this documentary sheds light on the causes, symptoms, community resources, and treatments of three of the most commonly-diagnosed behaviour disorders: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder.

The other program is a BBC documentary called “Living with ADHD”. It will follow the first documentary, on Sept. l9 at 10 p.m. However, it only repeats on Sept. 22 at 11a.m. Although they are both focussed on children, she said they should be worth watching.

There’s also a transcript of the BBC program.
