Podcast on Adult ADD. Interview with My Co-Author Jeff Hamilton on CFUN Radio

by Pete Quily on September 25, 2005

I just finished putting up some podcasts of my co author Jeff Hamilton’s interview with with Tina Oliver on CFUN 1410 AM radio in Vancouver. They’re at our new blog, Pills Don’t Teach Skills. The interviews were done in August 2005 and we had permission to use them.

We’ve written a book on Attention Deficit Disorder called Pills Don’t Teach Skills, based on Jeff’s experiences dealing with ADD. I was his ADD coach. It’s not anti meds, ADD medication can be very useful but by themselves are not enough to deal with ADD.

We’re looking for a book agent or publisher, so if you know of one, let us know.

Since the interview was fairly long, 70 minutes, I broke it up into 7 segments, podcasted 5, 2 more to go.

Here’s one podcast #3

It’s 6.45 minutes.

Jeff talks about the different ways he’s treated his Attention Deficit Disorder, including ADD Coaching with me, as well as counselling, nutrition, exercise etc. The host talks about some of the good qualities with people with ADD. It was a very postive interview.

The host Tina Oliver not only had ADD, but was quite knowledgeable about ADD and had a very postive attitude towards it. I was pretty impressed, and pleasantly suprised.

Quite often, members of the media focus only on the negatives of ADD and amplify them in order to market fear and anxiety.

There are some real negatives associated with ADD, and they need to be dealt with, but there are also some positives associated with ADD as well.
