It hurts. Ouch.

How do you improve yourself? 1) Be honest with yourself about what you do. 2) Repeat.

Honesty hurts. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

19 Best Resources on Getting Things Done

Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free ProductivityGetting Things Done : The Art of Stress-Free Productivity is a book by David Allen on the topic of productivity that is a big hit in the blogosphere and there are several blogs that have been inspired by GTD. I particularly like his idea that we shouldn’t be relying on our memories to remember to do items and if we have a system to keep track of all the loose bits of data we have to do AND WE REVIEW IT REGULARLY, it frees up psychic space in our brain that we’d otherwise use to keep reminding us to do things (usually at times when we can’t). He also has a good visual matrix to process incoming information into logical areas. While their are core principals to the process, there’s a lot of room in flexibility in actually implementing it.

Nothing Can Stop Him. One Legged NY Bike Courier’s Inspiring Movie

Filed under: Random Cool Stuff Pete Quily @

Fast and Reliable, a mindblowingly inspiring short movie. A must see. via Videobomb a cool site that rates videos similar to my new favorite site Digg

Dexter is a bike courier in New York that lost one leg riding his bike after risking his life to save a child on the street from being hit by a truck. He now rides his bike with a pair of crutches strapped on the bike and started his own courier company where he still rides. He gets a lot of attention, and he loves his job. Here’s one of his memorable lines.

Does ADD Really Exist? How to Answer this Question, Part 1

UPDATE: Part 2 with the clinical evidence of ADD as a real condition is here

Does ADD/ADHD Really Exist?

I’ve had a great response from my Top 10 Advantages of ADD in a High Tech Career blog post, 30,000 plus unique hits so far, 78 comments so far and lots of links and comments on many of those sites that blogged it. Still trying to digest it all. Thanks to everyone that Digged it, Del.icio.us’d it and blogged it.

Most of the responses on my blog and other blogs were very positive, there were a few same old stale unoriginal ADD jokes, and a smaller number of ones claiming ADD doesn’t exist ones, usually rudely and self righteously. One comment on my blog said “I need scientific facts.”

Talk to the Boss Directly. That’s the Ticket

Filed under: Misc. Pete Quily @

I Talked to Dave Sifrey, CEO of Technorati at the Moose Camp about my problem getting my blog indexed properly in Technorati. In about 3 minutes the problem was fixed. So the moral of the story is if you have a problem talk to the CEO, they more likely to be biased towards action than their subordinates.

Unfortunately I missed the morning because I had to deal with some of the logistics of getting Digged and Del.icio.used, a task I was very happy to do. Was in a very happy mood all day, despite a lack of sleep. I’ve been blogging for a year and finally had a post that hit it big time. Have 22,000+ hits today so far and still a bit of time left to go. Once I catch up on my sleep I’ll do something to celebrate it.
