#10. This post is a part of a series where people answer my anonymous survey question. If you have ADHD but haven’t gone public with it, what would it take to you go public with ADHD?
There are risks and rewards for going public with ADHD AND for staying hidden in the ADHD closet. See this post for context on the series.
“I guess it would take more public awareness. Frankly I can’t be bothered to explain my condition to each and every single person I interact with. Most wouldn’t even listen or care anyway. People don’t take it seriously.
Everyone who can’t focus or function thinks they have it. Almost everybody has symptoms. Few people have the condition. So it gets washed out as a big joke. So I guess that for me it’s less why wouldn’t I go public and more why bother going public? I like your blog. Keep up the good work.”
